Brisant Secure has a long track record as a security company, that creates locks and handles which keep people safe. In Brisant’s development of Ultion SMART, homeowner security was at the top of the wish list.

Ultion SMART has been developed in collaboration with Salto Systems. Their tried and tested Danalock technology used with Brisant’s most secure lock and handle, creates a new customer focussed Smart lock.

Ultion SMART gives the consumer choice. It works on any door that takes a euro-cylinder. Tamworth-based trade association, DHF (Door & Hardware Federation), has today announced that it is the very first UK organisation to offer an official theory-based qualification for three of the industries it serves.  The ABBE-accredited one-day training courses for those working in the automated gate, industrial door and domestic garage door sectors, is approved and regulated by Ofqual, the Government Office of Examination Regulation, and is a benefit described by DHF’s Commercial Manager, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens, as ‘ground-breaking’.

Why Does Construction Need to Lessen Its Plastic Consumption?

The industry accounts for almost a quarter (23%) of TOTAL the plastic consumed in the UK.

The Government has not properly prepared the construction industry for major VAT changes coming in October and needs to delay their implementation to avoid chaos, the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has said in a letter to the Financial Secretary to the Treasury.

New data published by the FMB shows that: Over two-thirds of construction SMEs (69%) have not even heard of reverse charge VAT; and Of those who have, more than two-thirds (67%) have not put prepared for the changes.

Construction leaders are calling on the new Prime Minister to stimulate construction and house building for the benefit of the wider economy as the latest statistics show that the sector is flatlining, says the Federation of Master Builders (FMB).
