ERA’s UKAS accredited testing laboratory and R&D design team together play an integral role in the company’s new product development. They also offer an invaluable service to ERA customers developing their own new products too. The two divisions were put through their paces recently in a collaborative project for Deceuninck that saw the development of bespoke hardware for a new Deceuninck PVCu Flush Door. The initiative demonstrates how collaboration between ERA and its customers faciliates product innovation with great results.

The new connected Ultion saw the Brisant team connect with lots of the industry at the FIT Show. Known for innovation they formed a partnership with Salto, integrating their Smart technology with their Sweet handle, along with Ultion, to create the ultimate smart locking solution. The team on the Brisant stand were joined by representatives from Salto to help show everyone how simple, yet effective Ultion SMART is.

Ultion SMART enables users to lock and unlock an entrance door using a smartphone or voice commands using a smart assistant.  As written by Active JR, a tech blogger, “Smart locks provide a new home experience with the ability to customise who can access your home and when, lock or unlock your door from anywhere with your smartphone.” Ultion SMART can be fitted quickly and easily to an existing door, supporting any locking system that uses a euro cylinder.

VEKA UK Group has celebrated an incredibly busy and successful FIT Show. The industry-leading PVCu systems supplier not only unveiled a brand new product at the show, but also claimed a FIT Award, welcomed two Kitemark presentations from the BSI, announced Independent Network’s official partnership with Which? Trusted Traders, celebrated a major birthday, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the products displayed.

The ‘big news’ on stand J55 was the unveiling of VEKA UK Group’s latest innovation. The company chose the 2019 FIT Show to launch its exclusive new ultramatt surface technology SPECTRAL to the industry, which prompted a great response from visitors.

DHF has announced that its first one-day public Automated Gate Group Certificate Course will be launching in Ireland this July.  The inaugural course, aimed specifically at installers and maintenance operatives, will take place on Wednesday 17th July at the Green Isle Hotel in Clondalkin, Dublin, Ireland.

It’s the very first time that DHF has launched a one-day automated gate course in Ireland, with the federation delighted to be offering this to installers, whether a member of DHF or not, as DHF’s Commercial Manager, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens, explains:

VEKA UK Group celebrated the global Group’s 50^th birthday in typically German style at this year’s FIT Show, with plenty of beer and bratwurst!

Customers, Independent Network members, and members of the industry press were welcomed to the VEKA UK Group Show stand on the Tuesday evening for a beer and bratwurst event officially celebrating five decades of VEKA.

More than 100 guests were invited to raise a glass to VEKA being 50 years young and still leading the industry.

Boosted by the award for Best Creative in the FIT 2019 marketing campaign with their #ComeAlong campaign, the FIT Show was nothing short of an extraordinary success for KÖMMERLING, as existing and new customers flocked to their stand en masse.

The show was a culmination of an outstanding marketing campaign, geared to generating considerable footfall, along with a range of window and door systems, including the new KÖMMERLING 76 flush sash and the demonstration of pioneering product technologies. There was also something for everyone on the stand with installers impressed with the showroom concept and the launch of five new brochures.

In the UK, around 80% of all fire deaths and injuries occur in domestic premises , totalling over 300 deaths and around 9,000 related injuries each year. Fire detection and fire alarm systems are proven to substantially reduce the risk of death or serious injury from fire. The fire fatality rate is an estimated two to three times higher when no smoke detector is present and functioning than in those premises with adequate installations.
