Anglian Home Improvements has been announced as the headline sponsor for the inaugural Ideal Home Show in Manchester, which will open its doors at EventCity Manchester from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th June.

Anglian will be showcasing its wide range of home improvement products on stand T100 at the show, with popular products on display including sliding sash windows and classic style doors.

As well as browsing the latest home improvements products, one lucky visitor to the Anglian Home Improvements stand will win £1,000 in cash in the Grand Giveaway Butterfly Hunt free prize draw. The FENSA certification approach requires the introduction of a sanctions policy that will be levelled at those registered businesses that do not complete a Transition Inspection by the deadline of 6 June 2014.  These are the details.
A non-transitioned registered business will find its FENSA account frozen from 9 June (and will be informed of this at the point of notification on the FENSA website).  To unfreeze the account, the installer will need to contact FENSA via the dedicated Transition Helpline.
These businesses will be required to make a commitment to undertake a Transition Inspection before the 1st September 2014.  Immediately they make that commitment the FENSA account will be unfrozen.   The FENSA inspections body (the BBA) will then be in contact to arrange this Transition Inspection.

A Cornwall based roofing specialist is undertaking a very unusual contract this week, which will require the closure of one of the UK’s busiest motorways.

JR Flat Roofing, based in Redruth, has secured a contract with a longstanding client, Moto Hospitality Ltd, the UK’s biggest provider of motorway service areas.

The contract will mean applying a new roof on the Moto footbridge, which offers a pedestrian route from the north and south bound Trowell service areas, across the busy M1 motorway near Nottingham.

In order to complete the work, JR Flat Roofing will have to work from scaffolding which they have specially designed to sit on a truck, in order for it be situated on the motorway lane.

This will mean closing the motorway one lane at a time and working exclusively at night to complete the £150k contract, from 10pm –

Trade fabricator Glazerite Windows Ltd has gained three new Secured By Design certifications – for composite doors, French doors and the new VEKA Imagine bi-folds – to add to its existing portfolio of police-approved product ranges.

The latest additions, among other things, make Glazerite one of only three UK fabricators who currently hold the sought-after accreditation on bi-folds and one of the very few VEKA fabricators to have both SBD and Part M wheelchair access certification on French doors.

Glazerite now holds SBD certification on its casement, tilt/turn and VS windows and single resi-doors as well as the three new categories. All have been tested to PAS24: 2012 by a certificated independent testing house. The fabricator was also the first to supply the SBD accredited Dynamic 2D hinge

FENSA has agreed terms with a list of 12 IBG insurance companies that can supply policies to its registered companies –the FENSA Approved Provider List.

All insurance companies listed have been the subject of due diligence by FENSA that has involved checking the cover provided in the policies that will be sold to homeowners.

“The undertaking of due diligence by FENSA has taken longer than we would have liked,” comments FENSA managing director Chris Mayne.   “This process is vital in ensuring that the right cover is offered and that all providers have the processes in place required by us as a Competent Persons Scheme.”
