Leading hardware manufacturer, the Trojan Group, has just extended its heavy duty Athena Door Hinge range to include a version suitable for composite doors. The Athena Door Hinge significantly exceeds the requirements for PAS 24:2016 as a result of its inherent design. Three Athena Door Hinges have a combined carrying weight of 100kg, making them perfect for heavy duty applications such as large doors and triple glazed doors. The Athena is PAS 24:2016, as part of a door assembly, so complies with all the latest security legislation for total peace of mind.
The Athena Door Hinge is exceptionally easy to fit and adjust without the need to align doors and insert pins as with similar designs.
Athena uses full float technology which allows easy, accurate and independent 2D adjustment with the door in the closed position. It has also been designed so the door can simply be lifted on and off when the hinge is being fitted, simplifying the process even further. What’s more, there are no unsightly gaps when adjustment has been completed, giving a sleek finish.
The Athena Door Hinge has a slim, aesthetically pleasing design and is available in White, Black, Brown Oak (UV stabilised), Polished Chrome, PVD Gold, Satin Silver and any RAL colour.
It has some impressive test results too. It has been corrosion tested to the requirements of BS EN 1670 and the painted finishes achieve Grade 5 and the plated finishes Grade 4, the two highest grades. It also conforms to BS EN 1191 for window and door repeated opening and has been tested to 100,000 cycles. And, like all Trojan products, it comes with a ten year mechanical guarantee.
The Athena Door Hinge’s credentials have already made it a big hit. By extending the range to include a composite option, its popularity looks set to increase still further.
