Astraseal Group is one of the UK’s largest PVC-u and aluminium window, door and conservatory manufacturers and operates in the trade, commercial and retail sectors. The Group is also one of Distinction Doors’ longest-standing customers. Astraseal recently introduced the nxt-gen composite door to its portfolio and the company is delighted with the move. Karl Cornwell and Andy Gailey, Production Managers at Astraseal, deliver the same verdict: “It’s the best door slab that we have worked with.”
Karl and Andy are keen to highlight the production efficiencies of nxt-gen, the positive reaction in the marketplace and the strength of Distinction’s marketing support.
Andy says Astraseal, which manufactures around 15,000 Distinction doors a year, including fire doors, signature and nxt-gen doors, ensures its manufacturing efficiencies are at their best. “With nxt-gen there are so many benefits from a production point of view,” he says. “The product is extremely easy to manufacture with considerably less waste. There is no storage of cassettes needed, plus the ease and speed of manufacture impacts across the whole fabrication process from improved efficiencies through to less wear and tear on our fabrication machinery.”
Karl comments that the quality of nxt-gen combined with the strength of Distinction’s marketing is also helping Astraseal across all market sectors. “Our trade customers are actually asking for nxt-gen by name and its growing market presence is clearly evident. We are very strong in the commercial sector and have undertaken several large local authority contracts using nxt-gen – the feedback of which has been extremely positive.” The success story continues in the retail sector too. “It is now the composite door of choice with our retail customers. Plus, the traffic has significantly increased across our domestic showrooms thanks to Distinction’s approved showroom locator platform. We are delighted to have introduced nxt-gen into our portfolio and the positive impact was evident straight away.”
