Wilkins Joinery has been operating for over 30 years as a family run business, with Neil Wilkins and his two sons, plus a committed workforce. Wilkins Joinery has a workshop in leafy Weston on the Green, Oxfordshire and work on a wide range of timber based projects locally and further afield, producing high quality bespoke joinery including, windows, doors, staircases, furniture, kitchens and other timber structures like conservatories and orangeries.

As the business has grown Wilkins Joinery has expanded their facilities to incorporate an increased workshop, spray booth area, larger offices and a show room.

The increased work space provided room for a 1Stop™ service from Quest. This is a lockable cupboard that stores all the consumables that Wilkins Joinery need to run their workshop on a daily basis. Wilkins Joinery only pay for the items after they have been opened for use and Quest perform stock checks and re-stock the cupboard as required. Example items in the 1Stop™ are PVA adhesive, abrasives, paint brushes, masking tape, screws and drill bits.

Neil Wilkins, Director at Wilkins Joinery, commented “Having a 1Stop™ means that we have all the things we need to complete our day to day work on hand. When we buy specialist ironmongery we call the Quest customer support team and our items are delivered promptly”.

The showroom area demonstrates the craftsmanship involved in creating a range of timber doors and a selection of ironmongery from Quest. This includes a range of traditional style ironmongery, examples are forged metal, which is hand crafted by a blacksmith, black antique and plain Gothic made from malleable iron, available finishes include pewter, black, beeswax and bronze.

The spray booth area has a Smart Spray™ overhead conveyor system from Runners, part of Quest. This simple system has improved the efficiency of spraying and drying timber windows. Neil added “By hanging the windows from the ceiling and rotating them as needed this makes producing a perfect finish a breeze and saves time as the windows dry quickly, plus it reduces the number of staff needed to complete spray work”.

Steve Hanson, Sales at Quest commented “ I visit Wilkins Joinery on a regular basis and complete a stock check on the 1Stop™, agree what needs to be replenished and advise on any other items the workshops needs, including power tools, additional consumables and ironmongery. I also keep Wilkins Joinery informed about our latest deals and new products”.

Daniel Wells, Director at Quest Hardware commented “It’s fantastic to see our customers expand facilities, we always look to develop services that facilitate business growth and deliver workshop efficiencies”.
