HURST DOORS INVESTS £250K INTO TRANSPORT FLEET TO MEET GROWING CUSTOMER DEMAND

Four new vehicles join Hurst’s 18-strong national transport fleet with the aim of exceeding its 99% OTIF

Hull, UK – Hurst Doors has announced the addition of four new vehicles to their national delivery fleet which will support the continued growth of the business and meet growing demand for their portfolio of products nationwide.

This new, additional investment follows a successful £1m investment programme that has taken place in the last 24 months. This has included a new CNC machine area, significant machinery upgrades and a significant recruitment drive which has grown the Hurst team by 20%.

Jon Brake, Transport Manager at Hurst Doors said

“These new vehicles are eco-friendly and some of the best vehicles we could have on the road. One of our key goals is building on the already-fantastic OTIF measurements we’re operating within, which have been consistently recorded at 99% over the last 12 months. The extra yield load that comes with these vehicles will allow us to be responsible and more flexible with larger orders than ever before, which is fantastic news for our customers.”

Dave Fellowes, Director of DNK Services Ltd said:

“Hurst are great to work with, as they use their own vehicles the products get to customers in the best condition. The speed of their delivery is great as they cover most of the UK twice a week. By working with a manufacturer who can deal with tight deadlines and fast deliveries this allows us as a company to provide our customers with an efficient service. I feel they always go above and beyond to provide the best service possible.”

These new vehicles, comprising 3 new Mercedes Sprinters and a 5.1m Maxi-mover, has created three new full-time delivery roles and supports the continued growth of the business. Hurst customers will benefit from greater flexibility and responsiveness with larger orders, delivered by some of the best transport vehicles on the road.

All of Hurst’s vehicles meet Euro 6 emissions standards and are equipped with the latest telematic software to ensure the fleet is operating efficiently and cost effectively. With each vehicle covering approximately 100k miles a year, the fleet delivers in excess of 12,000 PVC-U door panels and 2,000 composite doors a month.

Hayley Barker, Marketing Manager at Hurst Doors said:

“We understand how important reliable and consistent deliveries are to our trade customers. A recent customer survey cited Hurst’s delivery service as one of our greatest strengths, with an excellent reputation for reliability and products being delivered in full by a friendly team.

“The last two years in particular have marked a period of significant growth for the business and we’re delighted that customers will now be able to enjoy even higher levels of service thanks to the addition of these four new vehicles.”

Hurst Doors manufactures over 500 composite doors and over 3000 door panels a week from its factory in Hull and has a national network of over 1300 installers.
