FEDERATION OF MASTER BUILDERS LENDS ITS SUPPORT TO THE BUILD SHOW

With preparations for the first contractor-focused building and construction exhibition in more than five years gathering momentum, the Build Show is pleased to announce that it has teamed up with the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) to bring an even greater wealth of training, support and networking opportunities to the event.

As the UK’s largest trade association in the building industry, the FMB is a source of knowledge, professional advice and support for builders across the UK. Established in 1941 to protect the interests of small and medium-sized (SME) building firms, the FMB is independent and non-profit-making – lobbying continuously for members’ interests at both national and local levels.

Confirming its position as an early supporter of the event, the FMB will work with the organisers of the Build Show to produce relevant content for the event – adding value for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Brian Berry, Chief Executive of the FMB, said: “We are pleased to give the Build Show our full backing, as we believe the UK needs an event that caters for the needs of builders and contractors. Anything that helps to promote a healthy dialogue between manufacturers, service providers and the building and contracting sector can only be a good thing, which is why we will be working closely with the organisers of the Build Show to ensure the event is a success – both for our members and for the industry as a whole.”

Earlier this month, the Build Show has also pledged its support to the Cut the VAT Campaign Coalition, which is spearheaded by the FMB. Founded on research that demonstrates a reduction in VAT on housing renovation and repair could boost the UK’s economy by more than £15 billion, the campaign also argues that this could generate more than 42,000 construction industry jobs.

“We are delighted to have the backing of the FMB, as it will help us deliver the real benefits we are seeking to create for the show,” comments Paul Godwin, Managing Director of the Build Show. “Our shared values and focus mean that we will be able to produce some really dynamic and practical content for SME builders and contractors, which will help ensure we provide a tangible return for both visitors and exhibitors.”

Brought to market by the organisers of the award winning FIT Show (Fabricator Installer Trade Show), the Build Show will take place at the Birmingham NEC from Tuesday 28th to Thursday 30th April 2015, providing a wealth of business development and networking opportunities.
