South East businesses can now get up to 9,000GBP in green grants

, Construction News

The amount of grant funding available to businesses in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Medway, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Sussex has been given a boost by way of three green grants aimed at reducing CO2, reducing energy bills and promoting environmentally friendly products.

The funds have been available for some time but the value of grants has just been significantly increased.

Grants of up 5,000GBP are now available from the Low Carbon Workspaces fund to install measures such as double glazing, cavity insulation and solar blinds to help reduce energy bills. Only 2,000GBP was previously available.

A further 1,000GBP has been added to the Eco Innovation Grant, meaning that up to 3,000GBP is also available to businesses looking to market products or services that benefit the environment.

Finally, Sustainable Routes offers a grant of 1,000GBP to help businesses cut travel.

Project Manager Sam Hampton said: “We are delighted that can now offer businesses extra funding to promote sustainability. The larger grants available will mean businesses can do more with the investment, cutting costs and reducing CO2.”

The grants are available through the European Regional Development Fund and accessible through grants provider Ngage Solutions. All grants are available until December 2015.
