Renowned manufacturer launches Korniche Flat Rooflight System as manufacturers clamour to keep up.

The FIT Show has truly become a staple hub for the fenestration industry over the last decade, and 2023 brought about not only the same huge exhibition space packed full of notable systems and key businesses, but also some exciting new product launches in front of the packed exhibition crowd. Of particular interest this time was North East-based manufacturer Made for Trade, who revealed the third aluminium system in the pioneering and often-imitated Korniche product line.

Via the use of innovative engineering-led precision design and revolutionary manufacturing efficiencies, Made for Trade has become the fabricator to which others literally look on for inspiration. This year’s event was the third time that the Wynyard-based company has chosen the bi-annual Birmingham exhibition for a product launch, and one that truly caught the eye of some outfits who just couldn’t wait to get their hands on the next industry-leading product.

That item was the Korniche Flat Rooflight, which takes all the USPs and attributes on which the brand has made its name in the industry, and applied them to a flat glass system in order to meet consumer and trade demand for such a high quality product with Korniche’s unrivalled ease and speed of fitment. The new Flat Rooflight system is truly ‘Fit, Glaze & Go!’ with fuss-free installation, whilst the aesthetic appeal mirrors that of the Korniche Bi-Folding doors and Roof Lantern, with a sleek and ultra-slimline profile alongside the highest thermal efficiency.

For the purposes of displaying some of the game-changing attributes of Korniche products, nothing really comes close to the reach, attendance and general industry buzz that comes from the FIT Show. In fact, still nothing beats the ability to be hands-on with a demonstration of just how Korniche products can literally save time, hassle and money for the trade partner and installer. That was as evident as ever in 2023, with the MfT team connecting with countless new trade partners across the three-day event, as well as showcasing to existing installers and re-sellers who proved suitably keen to add the new offering to their sales portfolio.

‘Innovate, don’t Imitate’ has always been a mantra of the Korniche design team, and the brand has long enjoyed an enviable reception online, however nothing can replicate the face-to-face interaction that comes from a busy trade event such as FIT. Made for Trade’s unique stand build framed the new and existing products and ensured that all three days at Birmingham made the most of that industry buzz, and the ability to showcase demonstrations to attendees. The team on hand were able to catch up with old industry friends as well as meet new trade partners keen to delight customers and increase their product margin through ease of fitting.

Joining the team on the stand on Wednesday was Korniche and Made for Trade Brand Ambassador Mark Millar; a name and face widely known not just in the industry but to the UK public, thanks to his appearance on a number of home improvement television programs. Millar has always stood behind the Korniche products and their ability to save time and ease installation on site despite pushing new boundaries in terms of design and innovation, and with time-critical builds such as those that Mark is used to dealing with, few can offer such resounding feedback. Wednesday’s activities saw him get hands-on with attendees on the MfT stand; showcasing the patented BiFold Clip Bead system to interested visitors, and as part of the Korniche Roof Lantern live build.

It was that Lantern that was the first Korniche product unveiled by MfT back at the 2016 FIT Show, where it certainly raised some industry eyebrows – and continues to do so today. Fast forward to 2023 and the number of aluminium product companies in attendance has swelled significantly, yet the quality, innovation, customer service and in-house delivery bonus of the Korniche original continues to be a subject of notable fascination not just for customers, but manufacturers of similar systems.

Speaking of the event, Made for Trade’s Managing Director Bradley Gaunt said; “We were delighted to be back at the FIT Show in 2023, which remains to be the number one event for our industry. Following on from the previous two product launches here in previous years, the reception we saw to the launch of the new Korniche Flat Rooflight system in 2023 continued to cement FIT as the number one place to showcase our future fenestration innovations.”

With sales success, a rapturous reception for the flat glass and thousands of interested attendees, FIT Show 2023 really was a blast for Made for Trade – let’s do it all again in 2025.
