Building Our Skills – Making Fenestration A Career of Choice (BOS) has embarked on a recruitment drive with a difference, highlighting the need for the industry to come together and help eliminate its ever-growing skills gap.

Continuing, to build on the key objective to heighten awareness of the Fenestration industry to new and young people, the organisation is encouraging individuals from the industry’s community to make a pledge by signing up to its ‘I commit, to Inspiring The Future ’campaign.

The campaign, which focuses on recruiting volunteers working within the Fenestration sector is backed by competent person scheme FENSA and will showcase many of its existing campaign supporters over several social media channels.

The organisation wants to create a positive experience for individuals agreeing to volunteer, and is using the campaign to help share experiences and ways in which anyone can support by encouraging and engaging with young people into the Fenestration industry.

Stephanie Tague, Head of BOS commented: ‘In order, to attract new talent we need to promote our industry positively and encourage more youngsters to contemplate the Fenestration industry when considering their career options.

‘Each one of us have a story to tell, whether you are an apprentice, or a Chief Executive no one is exempt.’ Stephanie adds ‘The campaign helps set out how, by committing to become a volunteer, it could make a real difference in raising the industry’s profile amongst the younger generation.’

As an ‘Inspiring the Future’ industry volunteer you will be asked to commit at a minimum of just one hour a year – either; visiting a school or chatting virtually to students sharing your experiences of the industry and your career.

Stephanie continues, ‘Building Our Skills has produced useful resources for volunteers to help take those first steps, including; video’s, guidance documents, tips and case studies, all helping people to say, ‘I commit to Inspiring The Future’and in joining us to make our industry more recognisable for new and future young talent.’
