Resurgence Brings Home the Gold

The climax of the awards season came in September with the finalists for the prestigious G Awards being announced, alongside the finalists for the National Fenestration Awards (NFAs). Liniar and Avantek Machinery were overjoyed to be named as finalists for a record-breaking seven NFAs between them, with Liniar also announced as a finalist in the G Awards for Sustainability Initiative of the Year.

The NFA winners were announced in mid-October, when Liniar was delighted to be crowned PVC Company of the Year, as well as winning the category for New Product of the Year for its Resurgence flush sash window system. The latter award was actually the jewel in the crown for Liniar, following glowing tributes for the UK’s first double-rebated PVCu flush timber replica since its launch in January 2019.

The process to bring Resurgence to market was an industry first. With more than 18 months of collaboration between Liniar, Avantek, URBAN and fabricators, Liniar’s design team had the opportunity to launch a PVCu product which not only surpassed thermal efficiency and weatherproof standards, but also gave the market something never seen before: a beautifully engineered PVCu solution to rival its timber counterparts.

SGM Window Manufacturing of Basildon was one of the first Liniar fabricators to manufacture the Resurgence window, with Sales Director Stuart Bull commenting, “Resurgence has been a superb addition to the product range – genuinely, everyone that’s ordered so far loves the product.”

Resurgence challenges the manufacturing process of a typical PVCu window which is fast to fabricate and designed to be expedited through the factory as quickly as possible. Instead, Resurgence requires attention to detail for a hand crafted premium finish. Fabricators using the Timberweld® method can help speed up this handcrafted approach resulting ina stunning mechanical joint effect on the seen faces and a welded core. The time taken to fabricate one of these exceptional frames provides stunning results, and it’s the perfect timber replica PVCu window for homeowners.

Chris Armes, Liniar’s Design and Development Director, spearheaded the Resurgence product from beginning to end, so for him this award is very special. Chris says, “It’s such an amazing achievement to not only hear the overwhelming feedback from existing and potential customers each time we demonstrate this product, but also to receive an accolade like this from the industry as a whole.

“From everyone at Liniar, we’d like to thank everyone who voted in the National Fenestration Awards and congratulate all the winners!”
