G-14 Installer of the Year The Window Company (Contracts) has taken on its first ever apprentice.
George Clements, aged 17, has joined the Chelmsford based commercial window and door specialist as a junior apprentice working initially in the company’s yard under the direct supervision of Yard Manager Chris Melnick.
As well as learning on the job, George has already begun studying for his NVQ level 2 in fenestration and, if he progresses well, he is on track to be an experienced, fully qualified fitter within five years.
George is the son of The Window Company’s newly appointed Installations Manager Dale Clements so he can be sure of lots of advice and encouragement as he progresses in his career.
David Thornton, Managing Director of The Window Company (Contracts) says that George’s appointment reflects the company’s determination to go on strengthening its team as it continues to grow.
He says: “Dale was our first ever fitter so it seems a perfect fit that his son should become our first ever apprentice. We are growing fast and are constantly looking for capable, committed people to join our team and George is a very welcome addition.”
