Jack Aluminium commercial Mag Lock Door achieves PAS 24 security

Jack Aluminium Systems launches its new pivot hinge TD68 Mag Lock Door by achieving the PAS 24 security standard.

Based on the thermally efficient Jack Door, the Mag Lock door offers a competitive solution to the problem of lock tampering on commercial doors.

Mag Lock pas24 testThe new commercial aluminium secure entry door incorporates two of the Assa Abloy Armlock 281 which automatically locks the door once it is closed and can withstand force of over 1000kg – that’s nearly 160 stone or the equivalent of two average horses! The lock also features a security pin to prevent tampering. This makes it the ideal access door for social housing, schools, hospitals, offices or any building where there are common door entrances that are required to be secured at all times and are vulnerable to security tampering from the inside or outside.

It’s not easy to achieve the PAS 24 standard. The test includes a similar action of using a jemmy to force open the door, first using a 150kg, then 450kg. The same door then has 30kg and 50kg weights hurled against it. And finally a range of tools was used to try to prise open the door.

Jack Aluminium worked with Stratford-based Automatic Doors Ltd to manufacture the door for testing. Achieving PAS 24 and certification means fabricators can now achieve the requirements set out by Secured by Design with the TD68 Mag Lock doorset from Jack Aluminium.

Jeff Pearson, sales director at Jack Aluminium says: “Communal access doors are notoriously difficult to secure and protect from tampering both from the inside and the outside. Customers told us they needed a proven solution for this type of installation so we developed the TD68 Mag Lock Door to provide a highly secure and cost effective solution.”
