SOLAR WINDOWS COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION FOR CREST NICHOLSON

, Uncategorized

Voted ‘Installation of the Year’ by systems company REHAU and its customers, the recent contract completed by Solar Windows for Crest Nicholson in Colchester  features more than 1000 tilt and turn windows and open out French doors.

The installation is at the new Rosewood development, which has been built on the site of the former Severalls Hospital in the town.  It includes nearly 250 contemporary properties built with echoes of traditional ‘Essex’ house design and includes a mix of apartments and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes.

In each of the properties, commercial specialist Solar Windows has fabricated and installed tilt and turn windows in the REHAU TOTAL70C PVC-U window system and French doors in the high performance REHAU GENEO® composite window and door system.

The emphasis throughout is on both aesthetics, with all of the frames being coloured RAL7015 light grey on the external faces, and on thermal efficiency to help the development achieve its target of a Level 4 rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The tilt and turn windows are triple glazed achieving 1.0W/m²K and the low threshold French doors in REHAU’s composite RAU-FIPRO® material are double glazed to achieve 1.1W/m²K.  They were specified by project architects Broadway Malyan.

Caerphilly based Solar Windows is a preferred window supplier to Crest Nicholson and has supplied and installed REHAU windows on a number of large scale, high profile projects across the southern half of the UK including at Portishead in Bristol and at Centenary Quay in Southampton.

As well as winning the first ever ‘Installation of the Year’ title from REHAU, the Rosewood Park development also won an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award for its site manager Jim Nicol.
